Passage Assessment Database |
The Passage Assessment Database (PAD) is an ongoing inventory of known and potential barriers to anadromous fish in California. The PAD compiles currently available fish passage information from many different sources, and allows past and future barrier assessments to be standardized and stored in one place. The database is set up to capture basic information about each potential barrier. It is designed to be flexible. As the database grows, other modules may be added to increase data detail and complexity. This download includes the spatial data (in shapefile format), the MS Access Database, and the methodology documentation.

Salmon Restoration Projects (CHRPD) |
The California Habitat Restoration Project Database (CHRPD) was created in 1999 to capture, manage and disseminate data about habitat restoration projects in California benefiting anadromous fish. In addition to serving as a comprehensive repository for information about California habitat restoration projects, the georeferenced project locations in the database enable geographical analyses of projects, aiding analysis of past trends and planning of future restoration work.

Steelhead Distribution - Summer |
This dataset depicts observation-based stream-level geographic distribution of anadromous summer-run steelhead trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss irideus (O. mykiss), in California. This dataset represents stream reaches that are known or believed to be used by steelhead based on steelhead observations. Thus, it contains only positive steelhead occurrences. The absence of distribution on a stream does not necessarily indicate that steelhead do not utilize that stream. Additionally, steelhead may not be found in all streams or reaches each year. This is due to natural variations in run size, water conditions, and other environmental factors. The information in this data set should be used as an indicator of steelhead presence/suspected presence at the time of the observation as indicated by the 'Late_Yr' (Latest Year) field attribute. Please read the metadata throroughly before using this dataset.

NOAA:Steelhead/Chinook Critical Habitat & Distrib |
Various layers downloadable from NOAA Fisheries depict Chinook and Steelhead presence (Distribution) as well as habitat type and quality statewide. The data were compiled by the National Marine Fisheries Service (NOAA Fisheries) Southwest Regional Office (SWR) in an effort to designate Critical Habitat for Chinook and Steelhead in California. These data were published in August of 2005 and are downloadable in Shapefile format. The data are broken out by Evolutionary Significant Units (ESUs).
