 About Restoration Projects Minimize

CHRPD Logo

The CHRPD is a cooperative project funded by NOAA Fisheries and the California Department of Fish and Game and managed by the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission.

Introduction

The California Habitat Restoration Project Database (CHRPD) was created in 1999 to capture, manage and disseminate data about habitat restoration projects in California benefiting anadromous fish. In addition to serving as a comprehensive repository for information about California habitat restoration projects, the georeferenced project locations in the database enable geographical analyses of projects, aiding analysis of past trends and planning of future restoration work.

The CHRPD currently contains data from the California Department of Fish and Game’s Fisheries Restoration Grants Program, the CALFED Ecosystem Restoration Program, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, the State Coastal Conservancy, the NOAA Restoration Center, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the California Conservation Corps, and the Cantara Trustee Council.

CHRPD Data Sources

Fisheries Restoration Grant Program (FRGP)

The CHRPD is used as the primary grant-tracking tool for the DFG Fisheries Restoration Grant Program. This program disberses state and federal funding for watershed restoration projects in coastal California watersheds. For more information about the program, click here.

An interactive set of pdf documents illustrates the current distribution of FRGP projects, as shown in the example below. To view these documents, click here.
